56 NS trainees discharged after overcoming viral fever

JOHOR BARU, Mon:

All but one of the 57 National Service trainees who were hospitalised on Saturday night due to viral fever have been discharged.

State women, family and community development and health committee chairman Dr Robia Kosai said 19 were discharged from hospital today.

On Saturday, the trainees and a female trainer from the Desaru Camp were sent to the Kota Tinggi Hospital on suspicion of having dengue fever.

This, however, it was later established that the 57 contracted viral fever. The trainer and 37 trainees were discharged on Sunday.

“Specialists from the state Health Department visited the camp on Sunday and determined that it was clean from infection,” said Dr Robia.
