PERAK FA acting president Datuk Muhamed Mahiyuddin Abdullah and team manager will meet with State chairman for Youth and Sports Cheah Leong Peng today to discuss the FA’s financial crisis.
Darby (pic), who is hoping for a fruitful meeting, is aware that only the State Government can solve the problem where the salaries for the senior and junior team players, as well the coaches, have not been paid since April.
Apart from the unpaid wages, there are also other outstanding bills including payment for the Perak Stadium.
According to a senior official, the FA had expected a financial grant of RM2.8 million from the Barisan Government when they were in power.
“However, after the March 8 elections which the Barisan Government lost, the new people in power have left a vacum. There has also been a breakdown in communication,” said the official.
“But with the team’s poor run in the Super League, the FA Cup and the current Malaysia Cup, crowd attendance has fallen.”
The Perak FA, it is believed, is also waiting for the grant from FAM.
