POLICE have identified three more suspects believed to be involved in the robberies at seven business premises within a space of one hour in Puchong last Tuesday.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the three were identified following investigations carried out on three men who were believed to be involved in the robberies and were detained in Cheras last Friday. They were being remanded for six days beginning yesterday.
“All the suspects were believed to be involved in 20 robberies in Klang, Petaling Jaya, Subang and Puchong and do not have permanent jobs,” he said when contacted here today.
Khalid said one of the suspects who attempted suicide by slashing his neck and stabbing himself on the abdomen when police raided a flat in Cheras, was now in stable condition.
On June 16, seven men armed with parang committed robberies at five restaurants, a hotel and a food stall within a space of one our in Puchong Jaya, Bandar Kinrara and Bandar Baru Puchong, involving losses of about RM9,000.
The robberies were reported to have occurred between 6am and 7am when the premises were about to start business for the day.
On June 19, police detained three men in a raid on a flat at Bukit Mahkota, Cheras here. – BERNAMA
