PETALING JAYA: A lone gunman fled with RM300,000 in jewellery after robbing a goldsmith’s shop at One Utama shopping centre in Bandar Utama yesterday. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamed said the man had coolly walked into the shop on the ground floor of the shopping centre at 1.50pm before pulling out a gun and pointing it at the staff.
“The suspect, in his 30s, was not wearing a mask.”
He said the robber ordered the two employees to put the jewellery from five trays into a sack before escaping.
“The shop is equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, but had no security guards. Police have taken the CCTV recording from the premises to facilitate investigations.”
