SHAH ALAM: Two Selangor DAP state executive council (exco) members today filed a police report against the blog www.t4tbh.blogspot.com for allegedly making false allegations concerning them.
Selangor New Village Development and Illegal Factories Task Force Committee chairman, Ean Yong Hian Wah and Local Government, Study and Research Committee chairman, Ronnie Liu filed the reports at the Shah Alam police headquarters this evening.
Also there to lodge a police report was Sungai Pelek DAP secretary, Wong Chuan How, whose name was mentioned in the blog as one of the recipients of the over 80 projects in Sungai Pelek under Liu’s supervision.
In a statement issued here, Yong said the irresponsible website had linked his political secretary Teoh Beng Hock’s death to alleged pressure from him and Liu to conduct illegal activities.
He said they would like the police to investigate allegations in the blog because it was defamatory to him and Liu. – Bernama

IPOH, THURS:
Commotion reigned at the Perak state assembly sitting today after Speaker V. Sivakumar refused to start proceedings for as long as Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, the six Barisan Nasional (BN) executive councillors and three Independent assemblymen were in the House.
Immediately after taking his seat at about 10am, Sivakumar ordered the 10 assemblymen to leave the hall on the basis that they had been suspended.
The commotion that ensued left the Regent of Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah waiting in the holding Royal Room, for the official opening of the assembly session.
Zambry and the other nine assemblymen, however, ignored Sivakumar’s order.
Former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammed Nizar Jamaluddin and his former executive council (exco) members remained seated at the seats allocated for the Menteri Besar and exco members, while Zambry and the new exco members were seated on the opposition side.
Zambry then stood and proposed a motion to sack Sivakumar as Speaker, with the 27 BN assembymen and three Independents raising their hands in support.
But Sivakumar rejected the motion and explained that Zambry could not table the motion as he had been suspended from the assembly.
This caused the assemblymen on both sides of the political divide to hurl insults at each other.
Zambry then proposed the motion again which was supported by the BN and Independent assemblymen.
In response, Sivakumar ordered the House sergeant-at-arms to remove the 10 assemblymen but Zambry said that Sivakumar had been expelled.
At 10.48am, Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Fong then took over to preside over the assembly sitting from the opposition seat.
Zambry then proposed that former Sungkai assemblyman Datuk R. Ganesan be appointed as the new Speaker and the motion was supported by the BN assemblymen and Independents.
The commotion continued with Sivakumar still acting as Speaker. – BERNAMA

With both parties claiming theirs is the rightful speaker, the tauntings and booing continue and at one point, they almost got physical.
Sivakumar’s voice however could not be heard clearly as his microphone has been turned off.
The new speaker, Datuk R. Ganesan adjourned the session for an hour with Sivakumar claiming it was null and void.

Loke Chee Yan says they gave their statements under protest
IPOH: Four members of the Perak Committee of Privileges gave their statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission here yesterday, believed to be in relation to their decision on Feb 18 to suspend Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and six of his executive council members.

| Chan Ming Kai also gave a statement to the MACC |
The four were DAP’s Ong Boon Piow (Tebing Tinggi), Sum Cheok Leng (Bercham), Loke Chee Yan (Kepayang) and PKR’s Chan Ming Kai (Simpang Pulai). Another member, Pas’ Husin Din (Selingsing), had his statement recorded earlier.
DAP Canning state assemblyman Wong Kah Woh, who lodged a complaint to the committee which resulted in the eventual suspension, also gave his statement yesterday.
Each of them spent about 20 minutes recording their statements.
Ong, speaking at the MACC office here, said the four committee members were issued notices by MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to give their statements.
When asked whether their presence at MACC was related to the committee’s decision to suspend Zambry and his exco members, Ong’s reply was “something like that”.
“I cannot reveal more because all of us are bound by secrecy,” he said. Other members were tight-lipped too.
Loke, another committee member, said all four of them gave their statements under protest.
“We want to stress we complied with MACC out of respect for the law. It is apparent that MACC does not understand the powers and privileges of the State Assembly, where anything said or done in the assembly is not subject to any criminal proceedings.
“We are looking forward to an explanation from the commission as to why they are not respecting the immunity (given to assemblymen) under Section 3 of the Perak Legislative Assembly (Privileges) Enactment 1959.”
The provision states that no member shall be liable to criminal proceedings in respect of anything done or said in the Perak state assembly or any of its committees.
