KUALA LUMPUR: A fair and transparent investigation into the sodomy allegations against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is necessary, the Umno Youth chief said yesterday.
Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the movement wanted the investigation to be carried out quickly without fear or favour.
He said all matters related to the accusation against Anwar should be made public.
“This is necessary since there are too many allegations made against the government which have confused the people.”
He said Anwar’s decision to seek refuge in the Turkish embassy was made without basis.
“It is senseless. He is always trying to dodge the issue as he had done previously.
“He had used excuses like spinal surgery, a neck problem or arsenic poisoning allegations to avoid dealing with the problem.”
