KELANTAN and Negri Sembilan ended their Malaysia Cup first round campaigns at the two top positions of Group A with each having 10 points after five matches.
Sixteen other teams, spread over three groups, have another match to play before the second round begins.
Last night, Kelantan thrashed Selangor 5-2 while Negri Sembilan beat Sarawak 2-1 and this put Kelantan ahead of Negri Sembilan on goal difference.
Kelantan’s goals at Sultan Mohamed IV Stadium were scored by Mouhamadou Moustapha (7th and 40th minutes), Enock Bentil (57th), Mohd Badhri Radzi (90th) and an own goal by Selangor defender Md Nazrulerwan Makmur (36th).
Selangor’s goals were scored by Evans Chisulo (14th) and Frank Jean Seator (75th).
At Sarawak Stadium, Mohd Zaquan Adha Abdul Razak’s goal in the 90th minute gave Negri Sembilan the winner after they were tied with Sarawak 1-1. — Bernama
